short poem-tomorrow never comes

If I were to care, would you stare
Or would you bare the burden of no one there
Could you comfort the sun without getting burned
would you tell the moon to just hang in there

Do you sit and listen
or speak your tongue
Do you find a friend
when everyone is gone

Do you care about the little things
Or only the big picture
Pay attention to detail
or let someone else do it

To find a moment amongst the years
to let a bird speak into your ears
To smell a rose before they disappear
To admire the snow when it is there

Seasons change like the lines on your face
Dreams are traded in for reality as people change
Life is but or if I only did that
It best just to no look on back

The future is uncertain and never reachable
Today will end and come again
We can only miss what is gone
We can always sing our own song
